BronzeLens Film Festival producers have announced the 5 distinguished women who will receive the coveted BronzeLens Women Superstars Award this year, in honor of their contributions to the film and television industry. The 5 women will be feted during the upcoming BronzeLens Women SuperStars Luncheon (WSSL) on August 26, 2016, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Created in 2010, the landmark event recognizes some the nation’s most successful women of color in film and television, from legends to emerging stars in front of the lens and behind it. Over the last seven years it has become a must-attend signature event for industry insiders, corporations and the local community.

“The BronzeLens Women SuperStars Luncheon has become a favorite festival for inspiring and informing women from all walks of life. It serves as a platform for interactive networking and engagement”, said Kathleen Bertrand, Executive Producer of the BronzeLens Film Festival.

The 2016 honorees include veteran actress Margaret Avery, filmmaker Julie Dash, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) Cheryl Boone Isaacs, producer Nina Yang Bongiovi (“Dope,” “Fruitvale Station”) and script supervisor Dawn Gilliam (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Star Trek Into the Darkness,” “The Hunger Games”).

Based in Atlanta, GA, the 2016 BronzeLens Film Festival is set for August 25-28, 2016.
