Bridesmaids director Paul Feig has cast actress, stand-up comic and, Saturday Night Live alumnus Leslie Jones, to star in the upcoming release of Ghostbusters.
Though Leslie only joined cast of SNL last year, she paid her dues on the stand-up circuits, and has some impressive credits in her limited filmography.
Alongside comedies Starsky & Hutch and Little Fockers, she’s also shown up in Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line, and Paul Thomas Anderson trio Punch-Drunk Love, The Master and Inherent Vice.
At 47, Leslie is the oldest member of the new Ghostbuster line-up, which includes Melissa McCarthy and fellow SNL cast members, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon.
Ghostbusters is in pre-production and doesn’t have a release date.
