DESCRIPTION: African Voices cordially invites you to join us for a fun and inspiring evening paying tribute to three phenomenal women in film and theater. On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at 6:30 pm, Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series will honor award-winning actresses Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow) and Vinie Burrows at the Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series. Reel Sisters is celebrating 20 years of providing opportunities for women of color in film and African Voices is commemorating 25 years of service in the arts. This is a special occasion that will be marked by performances by Urban Bush Women and other special guest performers.
The Reel Sisters Awards ceremony will be held at the Billie Holiday Theatre, 1368 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. All tickets will be held at the door in your name!
