Director David Ayer tweeted the first cast photo of “Suicide Squad” on Wednesday.

The star-studded group, which includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney, sat down for a table reading before the film starts shooting next week.

Jared Leto, who plays the Joker in the highly anticipated movie, was not part of the pre-production rehearsal as he is currently on tour with his band 30 Seconds to Mars.

Based on the DC comicbook, “Suicide Squad” centers on the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all.

Smith plays Deadshot in the movie while Robbie will portray Harley Quinn. Davis, star of “How to Get Away with Murder,” co-stars as the lawful Amanda Waller.

Also featured in the movie are Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) and Kinnaman (Boomerang), in addition to Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Hernandez, Scott Eastwood and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

“Suicide Squad,” produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, hits theaters Aug. 5, 2016.
